Totally. After seeing the trailer with some friends during Watchmen, I couldn't help leaning over and commenting on how much CG was being used in retelling these "true events". Retarded.
I'm sorry.. I just watched the original Last house on the Left.. based on a recommendation from one of these lists... and it was TERRIBLE.I guess it might have been terrifying and shocking to audiences at the time.. but that music and the acting.. I just couldn't get passed it. Anyway, might get dugg down by cinema purists.. but damn.. I really wanted to like the film.
It's amazing that some of thse movies are so lame. You'd think the fact that they were based on a true story would make them a must-see. I guess a bad director can't overcoem a great story. Great directors are always coming out of The FIlm Connection. http://www.film-connection.com They offer one on one mentoring and hands on experience.
Ya I read the "true" story behind this movie. They found no dead bodies, the kid didn't have cancer, there was never any reverend, the house still stands they never burned it down... Need I say more??

And where is A Nightmare on Elm Street? Is it not based-on-true-events enough?

Saving Private Ryan was pretty scary... I wouldn't have wanted to be there.

inactive- Yes, the Exorcist was based on several hundred years of demonic posession accounts. There are cultural legends behind all the great horror flicks and some of the newer "Vampires Among Us" movies:http://www.communati.com/steve-lee/magic-hourhttp://www.flixya.com/post/brightlights/1397582/Th ...
