timesonline.typepad.com — Shocker: tarted-up toys are slaggy. Apparently a bunch of American scientists –after a lot of study – has determined that dolls that wear fishnet tights and trowels of slap don’t promote healthy childhood innocence. So if the American Psychological Association can do it, with a stroll round the Internet we can too.

This is interesting and all but why is it in the technology section? This doesn't really fit in "gadgets."

What's wrong with thongs for kids. They've had them at H&M kids section for years already, here in Germany. Amazing how prudish some people are. OMG, call the Queen!

[[And WTF were the parents thinking?]]exactly! it really doesn't matter to me what companies try to push (well, actually it does matter, but listent to the rest of my point) - is parents actually raise their kids, instead of shipping them off to day care or the babysitters and buying them whatever they want just to keep them quiet, no amount of questionable material will find its way into these kids lives - and if they do stumble across it at school or wherever, they'll know it's wrong.i hate faux parents

Playboy ! = Porn. It's a magazine that has some pics of naked chicks. Really, no big deal.In fact, i have yet to meet a person who has actually *read* Playboy that sees it as pornographic. Some articles are explicit, sure, but not *that* explicit, and the photos? Nah.Then again, i and most of my friends are art students, who have taken figure drawing classes in which we are required to stare at naked people for hours at a time, so maybe my view is a bit skewed. Also the idea that kids are far from stupid makes me think we should respect them a little and stop the whole "we must protect their innocent eyes from nakedness!" thing. I can understand it to a certain extent but some people take it too far - firing teachers for daring to take children to an art museum where they might see a naked statue for example. There's a huge difference between tasteful/artistic nudity and pornographic/sexual nudity and i for one would rather emphasize to my child the beauty of the first than "protect" her from both until adulthood and then just hope for the best.

There were several posts at Digg demonstrating some sex toys that look like children's ! If you haven't read yet you may look through http://www.edenfantasys.com/ and make certain that you'll never suspect those innocent ducks, worms, dolphins, corn, cucs... to be naughty toys.
