colourlovers.com — Today, because of chemical advances, not only are more vibrant and often superfluous colors available, but the usage of these chemicals is far more widespread. Often on a list of ingredients, one can find “for color” rather easily. However, until the Food and Drug Act of 1906, regulation for coloring was not in place for the US.

I'm confused, did they leave out "color", making it"the accuracy of the end product's color can be a bit skewed"or was it simply supposed to be "the accuracy of the end products can be a bit skewed"Hopefully it's the former, I don't want to know how the accuracy of the food product could be skewed.

i like how individual countries banned the chemicals from their food, only to be forced back into using them by the european union. i guess thats what we in the u.s. have this to look forward to. i cant wait for my food to contain more mercury and lead, yum.

The food at the store doesn't look like the cherry-picked (sorry) foods on tv and in the papers.

"Dr. Pepper has Sodium Benzoate in it. This changes your DNA." Show me a single news article that cites anyone except Peter Piper for this claim. Just because one person said it does not make it immediately true. Since when does Peter Piper's opinion trump the US FDA, the EU FSA, and the WHO? It's certainly not fact. Sodium Benzoate's effects on DNA are a theory that has yet to be tested or proven. "Diet Dr. Pepper has aspartame in it, this causes depression and creates formaldehyde in your brain." Methanol and the formaldehyde that derives from it are 100% natural by-products of human metabolism that are processed by enzymes in the body without problem. There's more methanol in some natural fruit juice than is metabolized from aspartame. "Water is all filled with toxic 'fluoride', and so is your toothpaste." The lethal dose of fluoride is 184mg/kg. A 200 pound person would need to ingest about 17 grams of undiluted fluoride for it to be toxic. Water fluoridation is about 1.2 ppm. This person would have to drink approximately 5,621 gallons of water to reach the fluoride toxicity level. And you'd die of water intoxication LONNNNG before you reached that. "Milk is filled with cancer causing agent called IGF-1 (insulin like growth factor 1), it's levels have doubled since the UNNECCESARY injection of rGHB into cows." There has yet to be a study performed that rBGH-produced milk increases human IGF-1 levels. Nor has there been any study that has demonstrated an increased risk of disease from drinking rBGH milk as opposed to milk that is rBGH-free. In fact, in 1994, the FDA said exactly the opposite that there is NO difference. http://www.fda.gov/bbs/topics/ANSWERS/ANS00564.htm ...

I like how the first result for "aspartame formaldehyde brain" is the snopes article refuting the original claim.
