dailymail.co.uk — // The same girl you saw in Digg's video section, if you're wondering. //She's never had a formal singing lesson. Instead, she has had to hone her skills on a ?39.99 karaoke machine. But Connie Talbot, the six-year-old star of ITV1's Britain's Got Talent, is already being hailed as the "next Charlotte Church".

Although his portrayal as a phone salesman may be technically accurate, I feel it may be a bit disingenuous. It seems as if he is classically trained, already accomplished (professional) opera singer. Of course leaving out these details makes for better TV. <a class="user" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Potts">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Potts</a>

Why is Britain Got Talent sooo much better than the American version. Its slicker, better production values, great background music when talking to people before they perform. The hosts do more and say more. (Springer, keep your shirt on) The show knows how to evoke emotion, and always ends on a high note. The one on NBC is crap compared to this version. Thank god for torrent so I can download the better version.

We don't have pop idol anymore - it's all about 'The X-Factor' now (<a class="user" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_X_Factor_%28TV_series%29#The_X_Factor_around_the_world).">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_X_Factor_%28TV_series%29#The_X_Factor_around_the_world).</a>Paul Potts is gonna win this show... it's like Piers Morgan said last night (paraphrasing) "We're looking for the everyman hero". Children with talent are just a bit too... freakish.

I tend to agree that the direction of the programme were controlled by performer placement, but the two obvious contenders for the 1st place were Paul and Connie. I personally would not like to have to pick between them, but I agree that a six year old should not get the kind of pressure that exists in this level of performance, therefore I can agree that Paul should have won...BUT Simon if you are looking, I would love to see an album cut by Connie soon :-)Cheers
