divinecaroline.com — In 1983, Stanislav Petrov held a very important station: He was incharge of monitoring the Soviet Union’s satellites over the UnitedStates, and watching for any sign of military action. According to thesystem, the United States had launched five missiles and the U.S.S.R. was under attack.

Thank you for the link. The wikipedia article was very lucid. Even if Petrov had reported to his superiors, the nuclear war could have been averted because there was no one red button to fire all nuclear missiles and the US wouldn't start a nuclear war with 5 missiles, also the warning system of the satellite was questioned before, so when you sum up all the factors there was no possibility of a nuclear war. But still Petrov has to be patted for his decision

Just a question. Have Obama made USA better liked around the world??Yes or No?And hasn`t he also tried to use diplomacy instead of going to war?And its not just that 10 days he is being judge by, for getting the Nobel Peace Price. I am from Norway and i now that for a fact, because it is Norway that is giving away the Nobel Peace Price.
