It is unjust to give one human more power than another. Are you and Hitler biologically equal? Of Course. This being said, why should Hitler have gotten more power than you?, its not like he is biologically superior to you in any way If he was, then leaders would be ok.
I used to think, as skews13 suggests, that to be a good leader you must be able to make command decisions under extreme conditions with no consensus. I think many good leaders possess this quality -- but this should not be the defining quality of a leader, nor should all people with this quality be defined as leaders. I think people who have this quality are simply good decision makers. Good decision makers can exist at all hierarchies on a team. In fact, often the best decision makers are those at the bottom of the totem pole. The ability to make key decisions under pressure is a cliche'd definition of a leader (no offense to skews13) which I think is becoming increasingly obsolete in our generation. If you cannot instill trust in your team then your decisions are likely to fall on deaf ears, regardless of how good those decisions may be. I think in this scenario, the only person you stand to gain confidence from is your superior.

That was oxymoronic.

So true...I recommend everyone to take these ideas to heart...so that we can all become true leaders in our respective areas.

In America, to be a good leader means being a criminal, liar and a bully. Welcome to capitalism.
