jraymilton: No. With respect, you are 100% wrong. I chose my words very carefully. One of the people in question is my own grandfather (who I love). Another is my next door neighbor (who I loathe). They believe Obama, and Democrats in general, want to take away ALL guns from the public. We're not talking about "ugly" guns or assault weapons. We're talking about ALL guns. They express their opinions very clearly on this issue. They see bans on assault weapons as a wedge issue to confiscating ALL guns. They feel Democrats don't want the public to be empowered to defend itself from tyrannical government. They frequently use Bill O'Reilly or Rush Limbaugh "reports" as evidence for these wacky fears. They don't believe that Democrats are different from them, or dumber than them, or more ignorant than them. What they actually believe is that Democrats are pure evil. Seriously. Why do they take it to these irrational levels instead of sticking to real issues? I'm not sure, but something has stirred an irrational thought process deep inside them and it is scary to observe and recognize. I see a similar thought process all over the web coming from all sides of the political isle. Not cool.note: I disagree with plans to ban "assault" weapons.
