Couldn't agree more. Why should I feel bad about wanting to get the hell out here so I can spend my time with family and friends rather than working on "more challenging assignments" (blech!)

I did that but when it came to the exams he wasn't sitting next to me so I couldn't see his answers anymore :(

"Be proactive. Challenging, fulfilling assignments don't just fall from the sky. Think of projects that you are passionate about and suggest them to your supervisor."Boss, I wanna flip chicken burgers instead of beef burgers. I think that would challenge me more and lead to a more fulfilling work experience.

Which proverb is it that has the bell in it?I'm a geek who is paid to play. I'm in IT in Higher Ed. I have a MacBook Pro, a dual 2.8Ghz Xeon Windows box with 3GB RAM, and an Ubuntu box in my office. I usually skip breakfast just so I can get to work sooner! I love my job, 'cause it's not work."Do you enjoy what you do? If not, just stop. Don't sit there and rot!"

they say "proverbial bell" but i work at a union factory/office and there is a real bell i have to wait for every day. To make time go by faster i make up questions about projects to ask my coworkers so i have a chance of getting "stuck" in conversation, i read digg (obviously, as it is almost 2 and I am at work at the moment), i draw my own doodles in between projects (im a graphic designer for a trophy factory), and I frequently make excuses to get out of my chair and move around the plant.the last suggestion in the article is the best.
