No way, man, it's so funny. I'm not saying it's flawless, it definitely suffered from the multi-camera set up and laugh track staples of formulaic sitcomdom, but the jokes were there.
Bill: Dave, there comes a time in every friendship when you have to say "I never liked you. Get lost." Mr. James: So I got to thinking, why not have it translated from Japanese back into English. Dave: Well, it seems to work for VCR instruction manuals. Joe: No matter how far technology advances it's still just a bunch of wires connected to other wires. Beth: So what's wrong with it? Joe: I can't seem to find any wires. Catherine: (reading the news) Tragedy struck today in Sector 9 as rebel terrorists blew up the Death Star killing thousands. The Rebel Alliance, a fringe group of Anti-Empire fanatics, has claimed responsibility for the terrorist act. Fortunately Lord Vader escaped without harm. Our hearts go out to the families of the victims.

I remember liking this show. Then I watched it recently on Youtube. I had horrible taste in shows back then apparently.
