Definitely a good list. Love it or hate it, the Dazed and Confused soundtrack needs to be up there. You arguably can't find a better compilation of rock artists from the 60's and 70's. @thewhits: agreed on The Lord of the Rings.

the soundtracks to 'far and away', 'dances with wolves', 'the good, the bad and the ugly', 'gettysburg', 'forest gump' and 'indiana jones and the temple of doom' easily surpass anything on this s**tty list comprised of several "various artists" which do not a legitimate movie soundtrack make.

One of the greatest little known soundtracks of all time. I didn't dig this list as it seemed composed of contemporary rock music. And I question a :"compilation" of established rock hits as a soundtrack either. Then their are all those older folks who might remember "My Fair Lady."Another soundtrack, if you liked Blade Runner, is "Crash" - it won best original song.
