lemondrop.com— 7. Uh, Shouldn't You Be Doing Something Else?If your child accidentally bonks his head or falls off the couch -- especially while you're on the computer -- it's a bad time to update your status.

The only thing I can agree with is the loss of individual identity once someone becomes pregnant/has a baby. Combine that with changed surnames and it is damn near impossible to find people you once knew. I'd also second the birthing video but I don't believe that happens (or certainly doesn't last long). FB already has some of my friend's friends up in arms for deleting some breastfeeding pictures. Most of the rest is just whining because this person seems to think the facebook and the internet in general is their personal domain and no one else is allowed to use it.
Haha, I can sort of relate (though not the same example). My mom joined several months ago, and knowing my mom, it was obvious she just wanted to snoop on people's personal lives because she was learning about (for example) my cousins' dating statuses through my sister and I, who would confirm that we'd read about them on Facebook. Now, half of her gossipy s**t refers to what she reads on Facebook. It's annoying as hell (though I do love my mom, I swear). I still remember her reaction the first time she saw one of my female cousins "In a Relationship" with her college roommate. You'd have thought that the internet was serious business or something.
As if you are forced to view things on Facebook that you don't want to view. And, while I'm at it, let's also remind ourselves what we're talking about: Pics and discussions about children. This isn't amputee porn we're talking about. Grow a thicker skin.
No kidding. I like knowing a few cute things about my friends kids but that is the extent of it. Uploading photo albums is acceptable to but don't lose your identity to your kids. I want to keep in touch with you not you through the life of your 2 year old.

I like to counter "as a non-breeder who actually cares about the environment..."
