Don't buy their Bulls**t. Here' s why :1. Did any one ever take a job that promised "training, career progression,, regular salary reviews, opportunities for management" only to have none of that actually happen ??? Thats right, they lied in the job ad. Digg UP if this happened to you. 2. You're CV or Resume is a SALES PITCH. If you aren't being creative with it, you will not get ahead because the people that get ahead ARE creative with it. When I say creative, think for a minute of the sales pitches that are made to you everyday :. If you buy Windows Vista, it will make you go "Wow!". If you wear Brand X Deodorant, you will be more attractive to the opposite sex.. Burgers are good for you and make kids happy.. Drinking Coke Improves your whole life,. If you take vitamins, you'll be able to jog 5 miles a day well into you're 90's. If you buy a Tony Robbins book - you'll be better than everyone else and have some kind of magical advantage.over others.These messages are hurled at you daily and we now know, based on fact and experience., that they are simply not wholly true.So why shouldn't you say similar things your CV ?? You can easily use phrases like "Jonny transformed the department" - even if you you just brought donuts to the office once a month. If you never slept at your desk you are "determined and tireless" Just so you know :-)
The only way they can check your academic records is with your permission. That RS didn't do any due diligence on their CEO shows the stupidity of the Board of Directors. That said, always be sure your reference are absolutely bulletproof. Mine are. It also serves as an early warning system for me if an employer is really interested since my references will actually call me to tell me that the HR people called.
LOLZ. Dugg for "9) Claimed to be Hispanic when he was 100 percent Caucasian" Many Corporations have a quota they have to meet for the number of "minority employees." Therefore, alot of the time, it is easier to get a job if you are part of a minority. Close but I guess they didnt fall for it.
