verifiedvotingfoundation.org — The Hart Intercivic voting system, used in at least 16 States, allows anyone with access and a passcode to modify vote totals from an election without leaving any record of the modification. Even worse, the same passcode resides on all machines and in every storage device, waiting to be extracted and exploited.

This isn't even a hack, it's a feature designed into the software. Any administrator with the right password and USB encryption key can arbitrarily change the vote totals with no apparent accountability.

It does seem from what I've seen and read about all the incidents of voter fraud and disenfranchising, that the Republicans have been found time and time again as the most aggressive and pro-active in the undermining of our votes. I especially loved the time when they tried to make Iglessius try to prosecute the Dems for some wrongly filled out voters registration in New Mexico and try to play it as voter fraud. It's gotten so bad they have to go on the offensive to cover up and make it seem like both sides are rigging the electronic voting machines, which are mainly produced (95+%) by hard core Neo-con supporting companies, and almost every questionable outcome has had an R by the winners name. I also think redistricting is a problem, and both sides are guilty of that. Voter fraud is as old as the hills, we should be able to run clean elections these days with the new technology, but they only want to give us non-secure easily rigged, piss-poor excuses of a voting computer, yeah, like I trust a computer that anyone can program and manipulate...To wrap it up, the Reps are guilty as sin, and the Dems wish they could participate, but it is all of us, the idiots that let them do this, that are guilty. They have softened us up plenty well and now none of you know how to get your freedoms back.

This is the reason I ALWAYS vote absentee. The 41 cent stamp is a fair price to pay for the ability to use a paper ballot.
