sabayonlinux.org — There have been several post showing off Beryl recently, but a lot of people have been having a hard time getting it to work. Just pop in this DVD, and reboot your system. You will have a fully functional Operating System with accelerated graphics and Beryl running live. Works with ATI,Nvidia, and Intel integrated video cards. Nothing to install

Well trust me, if it takes a week ( like it did the first time I downloaded 3.0 R2) it is worth it.

Tried this distro, and it kernel panicked about 5 seconds into loading. I use an obsecure laptop, even Ubuntu Edgy doesn't work. However, Ubuntu Dapper works fine. Sigh. And I know why I am having so many f**king problems with installing Linux distros. Open source the f**king drivers ATI.

Tip... Firefox multimedia is reported to crash is this version (3.2). So, you may want to wait until version 3.3 before downloading if you have a slow connection.

Digging this article link not because of the live CD but because of the comments people have posted here. Really appreciate it when people take a few minutes and document their experiences with a particular technology. If you're interested in Beryl, read the comments in this thread as the majority of them are very helpful.

This distro works perfectly on my low end Dell B120 Notebook. Intergrated Intel 915 graphics chipset and 512megs of ram. I had kubuntu installed on it which was part of the duel boot with XP. Guess I wasn't "geeky enough" to figure out Beryl on my own. The only drawback was letting the torrent run for two days to get the 3 gigs.

The listing says it works with ATI. Any ATI users having success? (Especially 200 series) This has been the problem with every linux distro I've tried on this comp. nvidia on the way...
