Hey the Santa suit is inflated by a small centrifugal blower run by a small battery pack. I do not weigh 400lbs and I do not have a big gut like that.....well if I slouch a bit perhaps.The novelty suits are also available in a sumo wrestler version. They are very light and cheap and made in China like everything else except this Xmas tree which is proudly made in Australia (= "down-under" )
Damn. Dozens and dozens of hours assembling the Christmas Tree - and what looks like about 3 minutes on the Santa costume.. :P Amazing stuff though, zoinks.
The leaf blower is actually cooling a rotary spark gap. A spark gap acts as a sort of high speed, high power switch that allows rapid charging and discharging of a high voltage capacitor into the primary coil.
