gas2.org — After the big three Detroit auto makers essentially had their rear-ends handed to them in a bag by Washington politicians last week, they have been scrambling to find ways to get the money they feel they need to stay alive ? and their proposed solutions are making Tesla cringe.

couldn't you just move somewhere with a better job market? Isin't that the privilege of living in a country, freedom of movement?

check out wikipedia. That is exactly what tesla is trying to do. They are taking the money from the first roadster to build a performance sedan (i.e. BMW and Mercedes)

@speedYou're gonna have to provide proof of this survey, for I cannot find it. What I have found is people buy tickets and fly on bankrupt airlines. The pay rent to bankrupt landlords. They shop at bankrupt stores. They buy products from bankrupt companies. They use services from bankrupt servitors. They eat at bankrupt restaurants. So why won't they buy from bankrupt manufacturers? And you're missing the point too. Yes, if the Big 3 go under it will be bad. I'm not arguing that. But, it won't happen. So there really is no need to freak out over the "what if" nightmare situation of it happening. And the time for avoiding a depression is over. This recession is now a year old and getting worse. Nothing is going to stop the worst of it at this point.

Actually, the volt and Cruze have been in the works for years. GM (and the other two) have been making trucks and SUVs because that is what was selling. Sure, they made other vehicles, but the big money was in SUVs. No less than 3 years ago, GM was criticized by wall street for making too few large trucks and SUVs and too many smaller vehicles with smaller profit margins.

Its time to build electric cars!!! GM has tried everything they can to destroyed electric car. watch "what happened to the electric car?" they should not get any bail out, michigan should find a way to make them become the first Electric Car industry. maybe its time to get GM out of this town and welcome tesla motors into this town. its the solution of our future.BTW, has anyone watched the movie or was it just me?
