Nice reminder. Decent writing can be taught as a skill. I've never believed the elitist position on this. There is something emotional that could make a difference on its own between a good and a great writer. Desire, absolute passion. Passion that powers determination and persistance.That's it. Skill, passion and determination.Why don't I mention "creativity"? Because I believe it to be a basic birthright of all, made accessible through the 3 attributes listed.Just my own opinion. No, I'm not yet a good writer :-).

That may be true, but if you began your degree 8 years ago, like I did, a reminder certainly helps. We learn through repetition.
