I'm pretty much the same way, I was into the hardware upgrading game for a little while until I finally realized there are better things to do with my time than constantly keep up with the information. Of course, this makes it difficult to jump back in when I want to upgrade.

@hammydudeI buy high tech stuff and build lots of high end computers because I have an unfulfilling life and blowing thousands of bucks on hardware or toys I don't need makes me feel like more of a man and more complete. The same reason I spent $35k on a Mustang a 8 months ago, even though I don't have a driver's license and don't know how to drive a car.Just being totally honest here. I bet I'm not the only one who does this. It's like chicks who are shopaholics or guys who buy shop tools even though they never build anything with them. :)

the more choice there is the more competition and that is better for the consumer . the biggest difference besides ATI Vs Invidia is the board manufacturer. Just find out the best manufacturer, pic the model that is best for ur price range and get it from newegg. i like invidia with EvGA or BFG for the board manufacturer. however if you are a ATI fan get a ATI board cus they make their own.

Same here. I use about 150-200 as my price point though. My current card is a GeForce FX 5700 Ultra and I've had it for awhile now and it runs everything I throw at it. Whenever I want to upgrade I basically just look at the latest and greatest and then go a few levels down. It's much cheaper (by hundreds of dollars) and it'll pretty much do whatever you need/want as well.
