what a lot of people are failing to mention is that before a record is pressed now, it is remastered. You simply can't take the CD master and press it up. frequencies have to be cut and boosted, 60Hz and lower has to be centered (having your stylus crack when that cartridge has a $350 retipping cost just ain't no good).the people who master records seem to know what they're doing a lot better.now go hook up an X dollar CD player and X dollar record player to the same pre/power amp and tell me which sounds more musical and live.
Social Engineering, that is all this is. I am sure with enough time and persuasive power, you could also convice those same teens that the Earth is flat.
