hollybowne.blogspot.com— What if your teen told you a secret, but counted on you to keep it that way--even if it was potentially harmful to someone else. What's a parent to do?

Tough situation. I don't think I'd send the letter though. Maybe share it with your daughter so that she knows where you stand (although it sounds like she does already), but I'd reward her responsible behavior by keeping this in confidence, if that's what she's asked of you. If your daughter were involved, or even if it was a close friend whose parents you knew well I might have a different response, but in this case I don't think it's your problem to handle. Instead, just be the mother and friend/confidante that your daughter needs at this age. She sounds like a good kid, be proud of that.

A problem for sure. Teen drinking can turn serious.
