kpho.com — A teenager who confessed to killing his father last month told police he hated his dad for taking away his Internet access, according to a police report released Wednesday. He told police that his father had taken away his Internet access after seeing suicide threats the teen had posted on social networking Web site MySpace.com.

Thank God he didn't play video games.

"The problem was a bats**t crazy kid who instead of admitting he had a problem and asking for help, decided to kill his father instead"Uh, he did ask for help. That's generally what suicide threats are. If he didn't want help, he'd have done it.

I just have to wonder. . . why do you listen to Rush Limbaugh?

If the kid didn't have a keyboard, he wouldn't have written those things. That's why I think we should ban keyboards.

This is kind of a worrisome thought, but why would the father leave a gun lying out, with shells, with a suicidal teenager in the house? Think about that one.

If a placebo is needed, it's because of policies enacted by radical conservative politicians. Gun control does, however, stink. This citizenry needs to be armed.

The mob mentality obviously has taken over here and we have hung the defendant without due process. No one is excusing him for this hideous deed by any means, but we must not be so impulsive in our opinions. This kid will suffer for the rest of his life not to mention his mother and relatives and whosoever cares for him.If you are selected as a juror, I do hope you will hear all the evidence for his defense and render judgment according to the same.I deplore this evil act and hate the root of it but impulsive behavior will not resolve the social issues facing our society.Blaming My space,Face book or any other social network is just a cop-out for us not acknowledging that we have a moral deficiency which is spiritually based.I do hope ever believer is praying for this kid to come to know Jesus Christ because Christ is the only solution for our moral disease.

Hughstan will go to trial in 2009. A friend of mine is the prosecutor here in Arizona. There are too many cases where kids and adults are addicted to the Internet. South Korea even has a 10-day boot-camp to wean kids away from their virtual lives back to reality. The Internet is a tremendous tool for communication, education and socializing. But there must be a balance as in all things in life.Teens and tweens: for more information about staying out of online trouble, take a look at: www.askthejudge.info. This is an interactive teen-law web site covering many aspects of your life. All the best, ATJ.
