Sorry to necropost but that's not true. She may not have done it, but that's not how allergies manifest. First you get a bee sting, no real bad reaction, but your body prepares for an unnecessarily large immune response (because the correct response isn't used, the proteins that actually detoxify the venom aren't correctly made, it is found to be ineffective therefore your body thinks you just need more). The next time, that massive immune response is mounted it causes physiological changes etc etc severe allergic reaction. Source: Bio & "Body Story" (great show)
