And just because a law exists doesn't make it immoral. Outlawing one entity from copying bits of another entity's property ≠ cutting off someone from food, water or medical care. This isn't philosophy class. Party 1 owns a legally protected property, Party 2 violates those legal boundaries, Party 2 suffers consequences. Pretty simple stuff, really.

I'm 40 and outside of the occassional whisper ("What happened while I was peeing?"), it did not occur in theaters during my childhood. I saw it get bad during the early 90s and progressively worse thereafter. You must be part of a recent generation.

Bogus, this is bogus. The authorities should be placing their attention to the people who are illegally downloading movies off the internet even before they come out in stores. There are so many illegal ways to get music and movies nowadays. The internet has the capability of ruining the intertainment business if authorities don't crack down.

My point is that she can use footage for a parody, but cannot steal it directly from a theater. For example, she couldn't run into a Blockbuster and steal 4 DVDs because she wanted to use them for a parody.
