This debate really boils down to one thing: "Content Producers" like Rupert Murdoch don't really want their stuff de-listed by Google, otherwise they'd have blocked the Google robot traffic by now. No, what they want is the traffic that Google and other sites brings them, but they want these sites to pay them for it. He wants his cake, and to eat it too.
