I had no idea the Diogenes character in "Reign: The conqueror" was written to so closely match the actual guy. This is probably the most intellectual thing I'll read all day

Oh I agree very much, but "comedy" of the modern Animal House variety lacks it, while good comedy of observation like Seinfeld, Carlin or Larry David is wisdom.
