capecodonline.com — History teacher Marybeth Verani and English teacher Adeline Koscher don't like war. Well, who the hell does? On Friday, there was a school assembly and when the school honored graduates who are entering the military, these teachers held an anti-war protest sign. Bowles, who plans to join the Air Force ROTC, said he wants the teachers fired.

Because Afghanis don't deserve anyone's help? And because ridding Afghanistan of terrorist training camps by Al Qaeda was a bad idea? I know, logic hurts.

mirunit - "You do realize the "corporations" are what given the middle class the standard of living they enjoy, right? Not everybody wants the universal subsistence of a true socialist state. What the US stands for is not, the latter, so I guess they do "fight for the corporations", it seems to work pretty well though."That's called Fascism.

Had it not been for recruiters in high school, I would have joined the military. Think about that for a minute. Their snake-oil salesman tactics were so glaringly obvious to me that they ended up pushing me away. In no way did I know a damn thing about the world at 14-15, but I at least had a basic idea as to when I was being misled. They made it sound too sweet. That's what killed it. They handed out copies of video games, brought in massive trucks with emblems on them... I saw right through it, and so did all of my friends.

There was a story in NJ where a valedictorian was censored because she was preaching the message that people who were inconsiderate in highschool to grow out of it in college and careers. The school did not like that message.Unethics leads to great many problems like the oil spill because someone screwed up a DFMEA on the pipe system. In light of prior ruling, censoring the teachers would be an option. However, freedom of speech is limited in a private institution. But that does not stop people from protesting a bad call. The teachers probably should not get fired, but that is the choice of the school. If it offends people that they were fired, taking students out of school would make a huge impact. For public schools, since an involuntary state, and coercive support of a business is unethical and wrong, the public school as it exists today should not exist. So I don't see the point in arguing a dead end.
