@nixonrichardThat's very heartless. What's wrong with spending far more resources on special-ed kids and giving them an average of about 10 students per teacher compared to 30 students per teacher of higher functioning, more productive students? Are you a reptile? A Nazi? Satan-incarnate? ALL 3 COMBINED?!

Burying for sensationalist and inaccurate title.

Since I graduated from highschool in a inner city area. I find it insulting that anyone would s**t talk an area with socio-economic problems. In a way it shows how in America. Once you move up a social class you tend to seperate yourselves from others. You can go your whole life in the US without ever seeing a black person, or an asian person..Sure my graduating class was 250, and only 20 of us went to University, and that includes me. It shows how a good teacher that wanted to teach is encouraged not to teach in an area that needs a good teacher.

well spending less would mean a poorer state in its condition such as books, and electricity, and running water, and other facilities. The thing we need to do is redirect the money we send into education into the things that matter in education. Like a music and art program, and better books, and better qualified teachers.Schools are building faciities for sports because its what makes money faster.

Monopolies ALWAYS suck. Period. And the factories of conformity that are the public school assembly-lines are monopolies (unless you're rich, like the politicians who are against school choice...then you have a choice. If you're poor, you're screwed). School choice is the way to go...except the teachers unions (you know, the ones making money from the current system) won't support it.If you want to make a difference, check out -- FreeStateProject.org --

UPDATE: (no one will ever read this...) It is now the summer after my junior year. I have recently received notification from my guidance counselor that my Physics teacher has been fired. ONE YEAR. That's how long my Physics teacher lasted. I am really pissed right now, so I won't elaborate and look foolish. You get my point, I hope.

Agree. Most of the students are now lazy and teachers should also be innovative in the way of their teachings. I recommend this one to the teachers http://www.wideworldschoolsupplies.com to get ideas to be innovative.
