Even with all of Marvel's resources, and the profit that comes from selling the software at $30, they weren't able to make something as good as an app that comes free with every Mac.The first thing I noticed looking at the CNET reporter's comic was how terrible the lettering looked, and how amateur the entire creation was. By way of contrast, take a look at something created in Comic Life - it looks like it could have come straight out of a publishing house: http://www.locksport.com/LSIGuide/Launcher.html
True, Comic Book Creator has been out for a while now. Although, I wouldn't call it garbage. I think it's fun software actually. I've been making a regular Guild Wars comics with it...Lost In Ascalon (Comic Listing)http://photics.com/forumdisplay.php?f=12Lost In Ascalon #35 (Latest Episode)http://photics.com/showthread.php?t=491I bought the software for $20, as it used to be cheaper. When I combine Comic Book Creator with Flash Paper, I think the results are pretty neat. I regularly use programs like Quark, Illustrator and Photoshop. I've designed newspapers, books and all sorts of printed material. Obviously, Comic Book Creator is no match for these programs. Yet, if you want to throw something together, Comic Book Creator is a fun program to use. It's a nice stocking stuffer gift for a young adult... or MMORPG fansite owner. HA!
