@SpeedSteamBoatSpeedSteamBoat: I believe that what @dafragstadafragsta was getting at is that if you can look beyond the theocracies concept and ask yourself how many similarities there are between politics as it affects the people at large between the USA and Iran you'll start to see his point.- Widescale distrust of government? Check. (e.g. Randomly ask 10 Americans if they trust their government.) - Fixed election results? Check. (e.g. Bush v Gore, Florida)- Fanatical religious groups exerting their power to instill fear and control the general populous? Check. (Assassination of George Tiller, 2009)- Government aligned media outlets? Check. (e.g. FOX - Republican)I'm short on time but if you open your mind you'll find that there are more similarities than you think... and that the American political system and society is not as perfect as most Americans think. Americans may *think* it's perfect but if you strip it down you'll find that it's really just familiar to them.
