That's ridiculous. You're using it to be allowed to use the device you paid for. You pay the $36(IIRC) activitation fee upfront to be allowed to use the device then when the visa runs-out you no longer have phone service.

Just tell creative to make a Zen Vision M and W with WIFI, web browser with javascript/php/flash capability AND make it for HALF the price of the Iphone for VOIP calling and they'd sell a ton of them. People are too used to having cellular meshed service anywhere they go.. what happened to the good old days of going to a payphone site and being attached to a cord? Why make cell phone companies RICH beyond their wildest dreams like having the government's hand in your pocket for TAXES, FEES AND SURCHARGES, NOT TO MENTION PIGGY BANK FUND!!SCREW BOTH AT&T AND THE FRIGGEN IPHONE!! APPLE SHOULD BURN IN HELL FOR THIS PRODUCT!
