gizmodo.com — The Writers Guild strike already stripped us of our Daily Show and Colbert Report, and now it may take away Heroes and House as well. Looking to escape Reality TV hell? We've painstakingly reviewed three free (and mostly legal) video services?Joost, Miro and Hulu?for your faux-TV enjoyment during these dark times.

This is sorta done to death, and the main thing to note is that people don't want to download some software to view videos - especially when these programs can be emulated with a web application or flash. I really don't need a fancy player with Web 2.0 reflections to watch youtube videos. Maybe it's just me but I really don't need to suffix BETA to a video site for it to be appealing.

Odd suggestion. Transmission doesn't seem to work with torrent RSS subscriptions, which was the whole point of my comment.

No review of Graboid? No digg. It absolutely buries Miro, Joost and Hulu COMBINED in terms of content.

Miro + tvrss.net is like a match made in heaven.

This is pretty sweet except...if the writers guild is on strike...how would we watch any tv (digital via internet or not). But I like the ideas, hopefully they will get enough bandwidth to escape the most irritating part of online streaming...

Reeltime.com has got this other sites beat. They have the best visual. It doesn't work with some Vista and some security features or Macs, but, for those who have the right combination of software, it is readily available. Just download their player, and then go to reelcash.com and try out their free subscription. Their TV shows are a bit limited, and so are their movies, but they have some pretty good content, and the highest quality. If you run a wire to your big screen, you will see something incredibly good.
