cnn.com— The 4 major networks averaged 20.8 million viewers during primetime last week, "beating" the old record of 21.5 million. NBC blames the long weekend, I blame lousy content.

I moved into a new house a few months back. I didn't sign up for cable right away and since the kids never complained too loudly, I never did bother. The TV is now used for DVDs and games only.I doubt this is typical, but the fact that this upcoming generation can be weaned off of TV programming so easily can't be encouraging for the networks.Lesson to be learned by the networks: Your business is advertising or subscription supported content creation. If you're not reaching people through the old mediums, embrace the new. Get in front of this one, guys - or be left behind.
The Internet won't replace television, some people need to get off that horse. TV ratings are always low in the summer because people have better things to do. It will pick back up in the Fall, and I'm sure the "internet media" will look to attack any ratings drop. Does a lot of TV programming suck? Sure. But I don't you any of you seriously believe the stuff on You Tube is better than what is on TV. -Brandonhttp://www.thebrandonshow.com

Shows are on hiatus. It's normal. House isn't until September, so it's expected that there will be low ratings.

boycy, if an incorrect word makes sense in its usage, stop complaining. This is how language evolves.

I honestly think that Cable TV is vastly under reported by Nielsen. The only network tv show I watch is 24 and the rest of the TV I watch is on cable.
