tuaw.com — The "Keyboard." That's what Apple is calling their latest engineering marvel-- not the iBoard or the MacBoard, just Keyboard. I got a chance to check out the new iMac and play with the new iLife apps for a bit, and then cracked open TextEdit and started typing. So what did I think?

Tactile feel-wise, if it's just like the MacBook keyboard then it's the best desktop keyboard Apple has made since the Apple Extended Keyboard II of the early 90s, by a long shot.

Great. A new keyboard from Apple that looks and feels like that terrrible feeling piece of crap that comes on the MacBook. I would have bought a MacBook by now if only it didn't have those terrible-feeling keys. Sure, it looks good (I guess, in the same way the PC Jr's chicklet keyboard looked good), but it feels like you're typing on mush. The old iBook's felt great, so it isn't a cost-factor decision: some idiot thought that a good looking keyboard was better than a good feeling keyboard. And now you can buy it stand-alone. Wonderful...

but its thin! seriously I thought the same thing. I already have a pretty think logitech keyboard, so I didn't really see this as groundbreaking. I mean, I have been sitting around going "Yeah this keyboard is thin, but I need one that is thinner!."

This wired keyboard is fantastic. After a week using it and now working with my other keyboard on a second system it is clear that this new design makes typing a pleasure once more.
