jaronbrass.com — Miramar High School had the largest number of iBooks in this 1 to 1 installation. We configured, installed and delivered close to 3,000 systems in less than 3 days. Not sure if it is a new record, but we're pretty confident it is.

How dumb! Right now iam driving there to break in and steal them all. And sell them for $700 a pop.Your going to have more virus for mac now.Because i rather write a virus to take down the school ,(IE day off, no Homework, become more popular) How many mac user at school would really think about virus? Most would think i got a mac i don't need to worried about viruses.

You can't just assume that it was all taxpayer dollars, could very well have been the result of fundraising or other types of donations.

In response to "Where the heck DOES a school get the money to give every kid a fricken' iBook?! Is this a private school? Are black people allowed in?" if you are white and you go to that school, you are the minority

The state of Maine has 45000 iBooks deployed as part of their Maine Learning Technology Initiative 1:1, which has been running for four years now. Every 7th and 8th grader in the state, and some high school students, have an iBook. All 7th grade iBooks were deployed in year one (so about 20,000 iBooks) and 8th grade iBooks were deployed in year two.

Ahh, memories. My middle school had one room with about 40 Apple IIc/e. It was a creepy room in the center of the school and it had no windows. I remember playing Word Munchers, Odell Lake, and Oregon Trail, but I don't remember doing anything else with them. Anybody else remember those games?

oh come on. Henrico not only put out 30,000 ibooks in less than 3 weeks in September 2004, but put out 16,000 dells and 16,000 Ibooks in September of 05.
