ted.com — Neuroanatomist Jill Bolte Taylor had an opportunity few brain scientists would wish for: One morning, she realized she was having a massive stroke. As it happened -- as she felt her brain functions slip away one by one, speech, movement, understanding -- she studied and remembered every moment. This is a powerful story about how our brains define

I think Diggers might be missing the important point here. It isn't about her beautiful story or LSD. It might be about the nature of reality. Maybe she wasn't hallucinating. Maybe she was SEEING the truth. Maybe THIS is what the church people and the government people and the money people have been trying to hide from us forever. Maybe THIS is our true nature and it could be the most comforting, eye-opening bit of information we westerners ever get. It explains a lot.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one with the thought, like when she said she felt herself become one with the world around her, or looking at text, being able to distinguish every shape but lack the comprehension, shrooms!

So a stiff from Harvard had to have a stroke in order to experience the same thing millions of LSD users have. Timothy Leary rolls in his grave.

If you don't GET A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle, watch this presentation by Jill Bolte Taylor from the TED conference this year.

It was interesting at first, with detailed descriptions of an experience. Then she started ranting incoherently about "energy", what she was saying didn't make any sense. Good job Craig Venter and others don't do stuff like that.<a class="user" href="http://download.paramegsoft.com/">http://download.paramegsoft.com/</a><a class="user" href="http://vb.paramegsoft.com/">http://vb.paramegsoft.com/</a><a class="user" href="http://ladies.paramegsoft.com/">http://ladies.paramegsoft.com/</a><a class="user" href="http://game.paramegsoft.com/">http://game.paramegsoft.com/</a><a class="user" href="http://vb.paramegsoft.com/9281.html">http://vb.paramegsoft.com/9281.html</a>

This was very eye opening and there is a longer video with her at oprah's soul site talks. I found this great the way she was able to describe how we get caught by our thoughts and miss being in the present. Great synthesis of the west and east.
