binary01hex.com— Synergy is a really cool application that allows for you to have 1 keyboard and 1 mouse across multiple monitors and computers. This a great write up and tutorial for this awesome app.

Great program...When I was in college I saw someone hijack 2 rows of computers (10 total) and was using synergy across all of them... he just rotated the monitors and moved them so he could sorta see them from his seat. I was impressed.
I saw this on Call For Help about a year ago, it's was a bit confusing though since I had just bought a KVM and thought I wasted my money but Synergy is not what I needed anyway. A KVM (keyboard, video & mouse) switch is if you want to share one keyboard, one monitor and mouse with multiple computer systems. Synergy shares the keyboard, mouse and multiple monitors with multiple computer systems. I guess you could call it KVM+.
I had so many problems with this. Great app though. I changed over to Multiplicity and never had any problems with it. Only downside is that it's not free, but meh, it's not expensive either. ^^
@jking2100:If you are comparing Synergy's functionality to a KVM switch, it is more of a KM switch (keyboard and mouse - not video). So you still need a monitor, which would be more than $50 anyway. However I still think that Synergy is a much better solution! However, again - this particulary story is blogspam. As others have said, go straight to http://synergy2.sourceforge.net .

Or maybe its just something wrong with your network? Default values works fine for me.

Synergy is pretty awesome! I was using it for a while, but I broke down and bought a quad monitor SUPER PC from http://multi-monitors.com/It's easier to have all of my hardware in one PC as well as the bandwidth of the Dual PCI Express 16 configuration to control all of my monitors.
