I've never trusted symantec, after I installed it my computer took forever to do anything, even booting up was a challenge, and I have a fast processor so it shouldn't do that, also i don't think it ever found any viruses, i think its a virus
The "experts" don't love Norton. It's the magazines that love the advertising revenue derived from Norton. Any tech magazine that entertains that Symantec propaganda goes straight in my recycling bin.
Even though Symantec's software could be better, its not the worst IMO, I do not condone FUD of any type for any means. However if they were covering up a flaw I do have a problem with that, still SPAM is not the right way to deal with it. Creating interest through other sites/media is more effective IMO.
This is why I said to get a better install CD.Even with an OEM copy, you are entitled to an install CD that does not have extra crapware added. (Sure then you have to track down drivers and stuff, but it's still better than dealing with that much extra crap.)
