I think it might have infected me already. It is the ringworm? I got it recently on my right cheek.

When I would go on the web in class I used to do so in lynx. Then, I ended up with people who sat behind me coming up to me and asking me who I was hacking and could I do hack xyz for them. Lesson: to most common people terminal based progams == hacker.

You got it all wrong. Symantec stole from virus writers.

While I would agree that this methodology will prevent a lot of malware, you still won't be safe. Part of the reason Conficker is so wide-spread is just because it doesn't require any user interaction to install, it exploits a well known vulnerability in the Windows server service, you don't even need a browser to become infected.

I believe you are very correct. I'm using Internet Secerity 2009. I have been besieged 3 times...02/24/09, 03/05/09 and just today. Check SYMC on google and go to discussions of SYMC. I have posted more extensive info there The Internet Security 2009 (Nortons) I have up to 50 JPG SCR Shots proving it. It is self serving..IE..firewall detects it's attempt and then "allows" it. There is a setting uner computer settings low risk/exclusions where you can tell the product to "ask me". That is supposed to bring up a pop up, which it does not do. Norton has removed DNS Poisioning.exe twice already. Concept..infect and charge for removal. I am not new in IT..I've been in it since I was 13 and I was born in 1945. I run 25-30 IMB mainframes and run up tp 30 different IBM operating systems They are allowing DNS Poisioning.exe to access..quite a trick, if you can get away with it. In torts they call that "detrimental reliance"
