neteffect.foreignpolicy.com — Who knew that swine flu could also infect Twitter? Yet this is what appears to have happened in the last 24 hours, with thousands of Twitter users talking about this nascent and potentially lethal threat. There are quite a few reasons to be concerned about Twitter's role in facilitating an unnecessary global panic about swine flu.

There are grown ass people who think you can get pregnant from oral sex, sleeping next to one another and "a look". Does it surprise anyone that those same people go to Twitter first when they have health issues?

That's why I don't post what I am doing at all times of the day on twitter. Instead, I use it to share links to stuff I find interesting on the Internet. Some of my friends don't come to digg and therefore I can't rely on digg to get those stories out to those friends. I also use twitter to add movies to my Netflix queue. As far as I know, there is no other way to add movies to your Netflix queue via text message. I read so many great comments on digg and I forget them when I want to tell my friends so some times I post those on twitter as well.

That's stuff.co.nz for ya. I've noticed heaps of times when they pull stories down (links still show up on news.google) and usually it's just because they've toned the language down a bit, as the same basic story is there just without the sensationalist headlines. I guess if the editor is off sick/holiday for the day things get a bit silly.Makes it a pain to digg any articles on their site.
