A person who doesn't know how to compile their own build is a moron? Wow, what an astounding statement. You're telling me that if Stephen Hawking doesn't know how to compile, he's a moron? I also reject your statement that everyone who uses Linux *must* know how to do their own builds. Ubuntu's motto is "Linux for everyone," not just for the hard core geeks.

I've measured text rendering in the dapper build to be only about 1/3 as fast as the official builds from mozilla.org. So swiftfox greatly outperforming the dapper build is no surprise, even if swiftfox turns out to be slower than the official builds.

It's extremely quick. I'm running 1.5.0.1 alongside Firefox 1.5.0.1 in Mandriva Linux 2006 and it outperforms the official build.
