From the article:'But he believes advertisers could have second thoughts about using Pirate Bay if a guilty verdict is handed down. "That can be the sort of thing that influences the site in the long run."'Any verdict, by way of drawing public attention, will simply have the effect of increasing TPB's popularity. Just look at what happened after the last raids.
what gives sweden the right to take movies made in hollywood and give them away free to people living in the USA?they should block this website at the backbone provider level.
Those you mentioned closed as soon as they saw troubled water, and it didn't changed anything, TBP has been under assault for as long as I can remember them being on the web. It's not the first time, and this news is already one year old and nothing happened.
Of course, this would solve the problem. Now instead of going after a Swedish website, they could finally go after the locals and put them in jail like the dangerous criminals that they are.
Its sad to see a country like Sweden put the money of the capitalist music companies before the freedom of its people. Its obvious now that there is a great flaw in the entertainment industry and that the industry no loner suits the people of the 21st century. If we had a truly free market then we would be without DRM and have cheaper prices and a greater quality of music. But the market isnt free its dominated by big players who lobby governments to force people to conform to their model for media distribution. When I buy music I wish the ARTIST to benefit from my purchase not the music company. A model like Jamendo is much better. Lets hope more artists join this service.

I, for one, wouldn't be surprised if the MPAA was funding this little fishing expedition, so no Swedish taxpayer money will be wasted.
