The article only said that he US asked that something be done..I am sure that all nations request these actions from each other all the time, if think that the US would impose sanctions for it is laughable. If you hate americans so much than quit taking money that the US sends around the world.I agree don't buy US porducts, don't ask for US aid, don't ask for military help....just don't ask.I am sick of you terminally liberal europeans...who have no concept of what it takes to maintain freedom or even acheive it.Stay off Digg too...it is a american product...as is the internet...as is most everything you enjoy...f**k OFF
"... is a total ban on American products, culture and software."The most reasonable and sensible proposal I've heard thus far. Sweden and other like-minded contries should band together and create their own music and film industry free of copyright restrictions.
Last time I checked Digg wasn't for US vs. Europe bashing! Bashing Europeans for the actions of a couple government figures is prejudice... something that Americans should be working to prevent themselves from doing since pretty much the entire 20th century was based on developing equality among people. Let me guess, those of you that have been bashing the Europeans have best friends that are black, white, yellow and red... but somehow you have a strange generalized dislike of Europeans? For what... cause some of them didn't go to Iraq? Cause you don't understand their particular governments and how they work? Here's what I have to say about that: STFU! And to the Europeans, same goes for you stop bashing the Americans because you don't agree with a few of us! Same goes you: STFU!This article was, I'm sure, posted to inform us of the situation in Sweden... not to start a US vs Europe flame war! I like everyone until they piss me off and I don't hold anything against any Europeans as a whole.. only some of their leaders that make it in the press or places like DiggF.Y.I. I'm a white 25 year old american who grew up in the southern half of this country and I have never been on another continent off of the Americas and I believe that if you want to LIVE in the US you should learn some Engrish!/anti-flamer rant
Good luck with that. Meanwhile, I'll be paying $10 for Superman when it comes out in a week and hopefully enjoying it, as I enjoyed all the other movies I paid for this year.
"BTW I don't download illegal movies or music. But I boycott all RIAA labels (enjoy indies and used music stores) and may soon be doing the same for the MPAA."In my opinion, this is the most reasonable, sensible and legal way to promote change.Stealing the product sends the wrong message. In effect, you're affirming the value of the product. If you didn't like it, it wouldn't have any value to you and you wouldn't be stealing it. Consequently, the only reaction from industry is legal in nature.
@nydan"I think outsiders tend to forget almost 50% of Americans have a very different view of how the country should be run. We hate our government at the moment too, but attack the political parties reponsible instead of the whole country."Oh come on, the only difference between the two parties is what information they want to suppress...The Republicans want to suppress science (evolution/global warming/big bang), dissenting views, and the media (News). The Democrats want to suppress freedoms by taxation (cigz/alcohol), dissenting views, and the media (Rap Music). Both play to their base, but neither is interested in anything but money. . .
