this is kinda lame, i only rescently started using SUSE10 just to try it out, its quite nice, ubuntu was a little slow but another great one, suse wont go downhill, 10 is alreasdy VERY good i'd say.

Sorry for getting off topic from the article. I just hope this won't have too big of an effect on Suse Linux because it's been my first and main linux distro. It's really a great OS in my opinion. I want to try more distros, but I want to buy a decent test machine. My current test machine is an old compaq 450 Mhz AMD K-2 processor with like 64 MB of RAM so installing and using OS's on that is a pain as you can imagine.

Sounds like sour grapes to me. He'll take a big fat payday and go start another company he can run his way.More importantly SuSE should continue to improve, assuming Novell's marketing guys manage to not screw things up. I've been working with Novell products for more years than I care to think about (happily I might add...played with ZENworks lately?) but I've often joked that Novell would have a hard time selling a glass of water to a man dying of thirst in the desert, while the Microsoft marketing team could sell him Sand 2.0.

I bet he's gonna start something new too.

slow down people...you will still be able to run KDE (and Gnome. Fedora Core's default settings install Gnome. I have always used KDE and I am still able to run gnome appz....this is not a big issue
