bloggingstocks.com — The specific mention of an iPod is not in the language. Tell you what, show me a picture of a Zune next to a turd and I'll be 100% likely to indicate a Zune preference, but it doesn't mean I'm going to buy one. We'd like to see a little more detail about the survey in question before panicking just yet

The iPod *at least* let's you use "other" OSes! But, no, I'm not talking about Apple. I'm talking about the Zune being a major disappointment because you can't even use it unless you use Windows. If you read carefully I'm saying if you love freedom you should wait for a device that respect your rights, neither the iPod nor the Zune do this. But of the two the Zune is the worst, since it forces you to use Windows. You see, Microsoft is trying to get a monopoly on music hearing, so at some point in the future you need a Windows License just to hear Music... That's much worse than the monopoly Apple wants... At least, they just want to sell all the music and all music players (still bad, but not as bad). Get it?

You can be assured that absolutely NO ONE I know has ever heard of a Zune. It's kinda pathetic when a company tries to fabricate a survey to show a preference that isn't there.

Inphinity:I think you're missing the point. If you remove the part about the Nano from Lava's comment and just assume he's talking about the Video, all his points are just as valid.

couldn't agree more.Pretty sure it'll flop just like "Plays for Sure".I'll stick with my iPod. It does everything I need it to do and it does it damn well.

my last ipod died. i now have a 5.5 80gb, and it operates slowly and jerkily. it likes to lock up, too. and i'm sure it'll die in the future. so yeah, i'm switching to the Zune.

@ everyone who called for meMy prediction is this, when (and it will happen) Apple loses it's control of this market, it won't simply become a fair fight between Apple, MS, Creative, Sony etc etc, oh no. The music industry will step in and start laying down the laws. The music industry will decide how much everything costs, the music industry will force unworkable DRMs onto us all. I've worked in the music industry, specifically the online music industry and I know how the big labels think. They cant wait for Apple to loose it's grip because the second that happens, they get to make the rules again. They want total control and they want to charge you more money. A lot more money. Competition is this case, is the worst thing that could happen. Like when the UK privatised the amenities and rail network, it's the consumers that suffer. And let's not get our kinckers in a twist over Apples DRM. It's not that hard to subvert. I may be wrong, but I doubt it.

Microsoft joined the game five years too late. I'm waiting for November 14th to see if this speculation will hold true; I personally would rather upgrade my 3rd gen iPod to a 5.5 gen iPod than buy a Zune.
