engadget.com — ell, would you look at that. The image we're certain you're eyes are fixated on above is indeed the first look at Lenovo's forthcoming X300 ultraportable, and it's being provided courtesy of Walt Mossberg. 'Course, if we were betting souls, we'd guess that nifty office envelope won't be bundled in, but hey, crazier things have happened.

Well, apparently, people dislike when people share experiences they've had with products.@puddgomez, killtherebel,ScottyMcBaggs:I have bought the three T61s from two different and very reliable shops. The products were in the original sealed boxes and plastic covers. All of them had massive flaws and were in no way recommendable, or at least close to the quality you're used to from Thinkpads.I'll send this one in when I have some time and see what they'll do, but with the poor eperience I've had with the T61, it's kind of hard to believe they'll fix all the flaws.

Are you saying a 80Gb 4800rpm ipod HD is worth $1400?

You guys are not the demographic for an ultraportable.Ultraportables are not meant to be used as powerhouse, developer machines with multiple peripherals. For the situations you're describing, I would use a MacBook Pro.

You think thats a standard keyboard layout?

Well, it is a timeless design, known the around the world.

Thinkpads might be "ugly", but they are a case of good design that has endured - inside and out. The design hasn't needed to change much, as their quality and attention to service have outlasted the various other designs of flashy laptops. If you're bent on wanting a Thinkpad with some gloss, there is the Colorware option.

it's really funny that ppl tell apple to take note. why should apple take note in such a buggy laptop? my friends lenovo x300 is super buggy, with constant blue screen problems (not to mention the super small trackpad), same with my lenovo t61. now, if u excuse me, i would like to mention that i prefer to have a stable system rather than a optical drive. notice that "stable" is not too much to ask for; too bad x300 cant even satisfy that. before u buy it, better read reviews from amazon.com rather than places like cnet where non buyers can post. and before u call me a lenovo hater or even a chinese-basher, i am chinese myself and was an IBM fan
