It would only be odd if you were his roommate - as it is, water from different treatment plants tastes different.

Right, bad plumbing has absolutely nothing to do with the natural processes of erosion and corrosion./sarcasm

That may be true, but personally, I'd rather suck it up and get used to the taste of my water than pay to have questionable quality water put into bottles that I have to then dispose of. I've drank well water all my life, and the taste doesn't bother me at all. The fact is that most of our water is cleaner and better tasting than what much of the rest of the world is forced to make do with, so we should be happy to have such good water.

So I see no one ever read the bottle? It says bottled from municipal sources right on it, IE Tapwater. I dont see how this is new to anyone. I dont care, I like the convienient water, thusly I still drink it.Sometimes I bottle my own using old water bottles, but when I can buy it for 3-5$ a case, it really doesnt matter to me anyway.

Not all bottled waters are alike. There is no substitute for bottled SPRING water, like Evian, Volvic, Fiji. Spring water is the best water you can drink. Municipal tap water is, generally, not safe to drink without filtering. Even when it is filtered, it is of inferior quality to clean well water or spring water.

The TDS in water is meaningless. Good filter systems can remove anything harmful without removing natural minerals that can result in higher TDS numbers. Reverse osmosis takes all of the minerals out of water, so the TDS should be very low in water purified by reverse osmosis. The only real use for a TDS test and the only reason they're sold to the public is to see if a reverse osmosis system is functioning properly. TDS will tell you absolutely NOTHING about the purity of filtered water with a natural mineral content. So... this "info" is pretty much useless. IMO water filtered by a very good system tastes better than water purified by reverse osmosis or distillation.

The best water filter on the planet right now is Espring. The eSpring Water Purifier was the first water purification system to be tested and cert. by NSF Intl to meet NSF/ANSI Standards 42,53, and 55B.Not cheap - but you get what you pay for. Carbon block w/UV & electronic technology...Re-use your existing plastic bottle & just re-fill them with Espring water connected to your tap. Works out to 46 cents/gal first year - 13 cents/gal second year. http://bit.ly/7T3pwc Smoothest, best tasting water I've ever had.
