news.aol.com — To clarify, Obama's birth certificate is not before the Supreme Court today. He was born in Hawaii, that's not being disputed in the court. What is being challenged is whether or not he is a "Natural Born Citizen."

“I don’t give a goddamn,” Bush retorted. “I’m the President and the Commander-in-Chief. Do it my way.”“Mr. President,” one aide in the meeting said. “There is a valid case that the provisions in this law undermine the Constitution.”“Stop throwing the Constitution in my face,” Bush screamed back. “It’s just a goddamned piece of paper!”Perhaps you don't value freedom and you wish to live in a dictatorship?

precisely as you say winnestow.... if there really is nothing to hide, then why continue to hide it? certainly, the public has a right to information that is true and accurate, so why not just show us the dog gone document? unless, of course, there is no such document... but that just seems unimaginable to many... so they have to conjure up a "perception" of truth and hold fast to it, regardless of the facts. now, if BHO's birth certificate does not exist, there is no crime, cuz many documents are lost over decades of opportunity. but, then that begs the obvious question: then why did the BHO campaign try to 'create' a legitimate looking document, instead of just telling the truth. the truth is so liberating... it will always stand alone and does not need so many voices defending it as this BHO Certifi-GATE has summoned. each new insult leveled by these BHO defenders is yet another example that they don't believe themselves in BHO's legitimacy. so, carry on, Obamanation lovers, to prove that BHO is a fraud.

why did you play the race card? this is just a cheap trick to distract your opponents when you have no evidence to support your theory. i don't care what party he is, or his racial construct. i do care about his character. don't you? honestly, i am just shocked that you would consider BHO's Constitutionally verified birth eligibility irrelevant to his presidency. don't you get it? I WANT HIM TO SUCCEED! i am proud that american has laid aside hundreds of years of racist abuse and decades of Jim Crow and all that ugly history that shames us. We now have the descendant of slaves (it has been proved to my satisfaction in North Carolina) moving to the Executive Mansion Jan 21, 2009 to serve as First Lady. God Bless America. I would that other nations with histories just as full of hate and caste biases would rise to this level. Imagine a Jewish king of Saudi Arabia, or a Christian prime minister of Israel, or a Muslim Pope in the vatican... God Bless America!!!

very good point, Magginkat. don't you wish that Bush had been elected without all of the SC5 shenanigans? election-gate will forever be a shadow over the Bush43 presidency (but will be overshadowed by the disaster of his performance on the job... LOL). now don't you see the importance of removing this shadow of doubt over Obama's legitimacy before Jan 20, 2009, so that he can begin his term of office with a clean slate. i believe (perhaps with too little cynicism) that, if the Supreme Court would simply hear the dog gone case, and prove BHO's legitimacy beyond doubt, that most of the bloggers would be silenced (at least on this point). then the whole story would just be another paragraph in a history book... case closed, and we ALL win! why is it not this simple? show us the dog gone document.

I am almost never innocent of the charges of arrogance or naivete, so I can see your point. In the context, people were trying to come up with earliest uses of the term "Birther" on Digg. I had never seen it anywhere before the post I mentioned, and it certainly did appear as if it was an act of creativity by ironhide in response to my suggestion, although ironhide himself insists it was not. It is certainly possible "Birther" was in use earlier -- it's one of those things that sounds too good not to always have existed, but that's one of the hallmarks of a good neologism. All that said, First Use is a matter of documentation, not supposition. I may well be wrong about this (and I'm almost certainly making too big a thing of it) but so far I haven't seen any actual evidence that I am.

Law firms? Name anybody who has stepped into court or filed a single letter on Obama's behalf. This is not the OJ Simpson trial. This hasn't even gone to trial, anywhere.
