@Blinker1315 I think this is what the article is saying. And it is giving people a few simple ideas on how to start.

People are often surprised by what a portion actually is. Too often, when people see me eating, they ask me "Is that ALL you are going to eat for lunch/dinner?" Eating a huge breakfast is the best way to start your day and to kick your metabolism into full gear; you will feel more alert and refreshed during your day and this will help you to keep the rest of your meal portions sensible for the day and fill you up better. There is some good advice to live by: Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and dinner like a pauper. Also, it helps tremendously to eat your meals slowly. Enjoy every bite. Drink plenty of water with each meal (or beverage of your choice). It takes approximately ten to fifteen minutes from the moment you start eating until your stomach tells your brain that you've had enough. Eating too quickly is another way to overeat at mealtimes. Try to have some light snacks to boost you up throughout the day; some fruit, some nuts, or a cereal bar can satisfy a craving and pump you back up leaving you energized and refreshed. Even having a glass of water when you feel hunger coming on can successfully stave the feeling off. This was a great article. I hope that I've been able to contribute some helpful information for everyone.

Our kids' school tried something like that. Unfortunately it was based solely on some calculation (BMI perhaps?) Letters sent out to miscategorized kids tends to get a lot of parents angry and this program soon stopped. I like the general idea, but they completely failed in execution.

I understand that. What I don't understand is why such articles are necessary.
