Having worked in that industry, I have found this to be sad but true..

You don't "take hydrogen out of water" you separate water into two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom usually as gases. As noted it takes energy to do this, but conceivably it could be done with solar or wind, as well as nuclear energy. The big assumption is that because we have a lot of water on this little rock, that we can do this without repercussions. If we move to a Hydrogen economy, which I would support, I suspect that future generations will be concerned about increased salinity of the oceans, increased soil erosion from increased annual rainfall. Most of the water in the world is sea water and converting it to H2 + O is done after desalination, so all the salt goes back into the ocean and until the energy cycle is completed and then the water cycle is completed. This would amount to quiet a bit of hydrogen taken out of the system to be used as energy stockpiles.Whether it is significant, we probably will not know for 150 years until the developing world has somewhat achieved parity with the developed nations.

It is pretty damn ironic, when the most energy-efficient buildings will be built by oil-producing Middle Eastern countries flush with US oil dollars. When we over here can't even get the Cape Wind project up in our area.<a class="user" href="http://game.paramegsoft.com/">http://game.paramegsoft.com/</a><a class="user" href="http://www.paramegsoft.com/forum/">http://www.paramegsoft.com/forum/</a><a class="user" href="http://dir.paramegsoft.com/">http://dir.paramegsoft.com/</a><a class="user" href="http://download.paramegsoft.com/">http://download.paramegsoft.com/</a>

Its a nice building and probably will do all that it claims but it's not going to happen because UAE only cares about having the biggest buildings. They're the ones who are currently draining most of their resources to build the artificial island, using the water and under ground piping to keep the beaches at their luxury resort hotels cool. It's UNBELIEVEABLE !!!

Solar power technology isn't all that its cracked up to be. It's still only 20% efficient and most products that you could get for your house would only be able to run say your fridge.
