inhabitat.com — Borrowing books from the library is the responsible and environmentally friendly thing to do, and this new library in Scottsdale Arizona makes us want to use the library all the time. Designed by Rich?rd + Bauer, the Arabian Library utilizes great green building design and innovative new thinking to encourage people to lend from the library.

I love library's. I'm not as much of an avid reader as I'd like to be (so many books, so much other media to consume.) But the simple idea that all available knowledge and fiction is freely accessible in a communal place where people can exchange ideas is amazing to me. It's the closest thing to a Utopian world we have. Yes, that sounds silly and only has to do with books, but really think about it: What other institution allows one to have full access to so much media for no money for as long as they'd like? Plus the homeless can clean up there. That's always interesting. :)
